I love Spring. The trees turn green again and the flowers are in bloom adding color to winter’s dreary landscape. I love driving through Georgia’s tree covered roads and wildflower side streets. That being said, I don’t like the heat, the bugs, and I can’t for the life of me keep my flowers alive. So, cards are the next best thing! (I haven’t killed a piece of paper yet! LOL)
The Best Dressed DSP stack makes card making sooooooo easy. The beautiful colors coordinate so well with all sorts of colors of cardstock. And can we take a moment to appreciate that Ornate 3D Embossing Folder?! It’s brand new to the upcoming catalog (and part of customer pre-release! Sweet!). This embossing folder is my new favorite.
Let’s get to making today’s card and bring a little of spring and sunshine to your crafting table (and soon to a mailbox near you…or far from you…depends on where ya send it.)
I started with a Whisper White card base. I love the THICK Whisper White cardstock for card bases. It’s much sturdier and heartier than the regular Whisper White Cardstock. Cut to 8.5″ x 5.5″ and score at 4.25″
Cut a piece of Pineapple Punch Cardstock to 2.5″ x 4.25″. Emboss using the Ornate 3D Embossing Folder. Glue that piece down to your card base. I left about half an inch of white from the left side.
Glue a 3-3/8″ x 3-3/8″ piece of Whisper White to a 3-5/8″ x 3-5/8″ piece of Lovely Lipstick.
Next cut 4 pieces of DSP to 1.5″ x 1.5″. (I chose a floral and a polka dot pattern. You do you!) Evenly space those on the whisper white/lovely lipstick square and glue down. Adhere these layers to your card base with Dimensionals.
Stamp you sentiment onto some Whisper White Cardstock and punch out with your 2″ Circle Punch. Punch a piece of Lovely Lipstick Cardstock with the Starburst Punch. Glue the White onto the Lovely Lipstick.
Punch a piece of green Vellum with your leaf punch and attach it to the back of your sentiment circles with a glue dot. Adhere the circles to your card with Dimensionals.
Tie a double bow and adhere with a glue dot. (To die a double bow, I tie a bow like normal but with two pieces of bakers twine at once.) Finally, sprinkle around some Basic Rhinestones for a special touch.
