I love dogs. I’ve had one most all my life. In fact, our dog doesn’t even know she’s a dog. She’s spoiled. And by spoiled, I mean she won’t go to bed unless I go into my mom’s room at night and give her a bedtime treat. And now, my husband has her spoiled so much that she won’t even go to bed until he gets home and slides an animal cracker under mom’s door for her. She’s spoiled rotten. But in the words of my grandfather, “She’s not spoiled…she’s loved.” Anyway….all of that to say, we are a sucker for dog stamps, punches, paper…we need it all! (Fun Tidbit: There “might” be a really cute pets suite in an upcoming catalog that we’re dying to get our hands on…)
We are super sad to see the Happy Tails stamp set retire next month. The Nine Lives cat stamp set will be retiring as well. Don’t worry though…the punches are staying!
Here’s our “farewell” card to honor the beloved dog and cat stamp sets.

To start our card off we used Pretty Peacock for our card base. We changed it up thought and cut it to be 11″ x 4.25″, scored at 5.5″. Something different, something fun because lets face it…these guys don’t follow anybody’s rules.
We then did a 4″ x 5.25″ layer of Whisper White cardstock underneath our 3.75″ x 5″ Balmy Blue cardstock.
We die cut the hearts using the Stitched Be Mine Dies on Pretty Peacock Cardstock. Add on a couple little paw prints onto the solid heart for some fun.

The dog was stamped in Memento Black for his body and his spots. The cat’s body we stamped in black and then stamped a layer of Cajun Craze for his fur. Then punch those cute critters out!
Our sentiment was stamped with Pretty Peacock Ink right onto the Balmy Blue cardstock. Then all the pieces were glued straight down onto the base. Easy Peasy!
As always, don’t forget to stamp some cuteness onto the inside of your card and onto your envelope!

So…tell me. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
