So yesterday I made a card using the Ornate Embossing Folder…today I’m doing that again! I told you I loved this new embossing folder! It’s simple, elegant, and packs a “Wow” punch. And that daisy stamp…Oh how I love daisies (one of my top 2 favorite flowers actually).

Let’s get started with the fun!
I started with a standard Thick Whisper White Cardstock Base. (8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″).
Next cut a piece of So Saffron Cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″. Run this through your die cut machine with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. (Isn’t it just soooo pretty?!)
Wrap the green ribbon from the Ornate Garden Combo around the card and tie a pretty bow. My bow is kinda big…I’m in the south…it’s go big or go home with the bows down here. Glue your So Saffron piece onto the Whisper White Cardbase.
Stamp your daisy using Memento Black onto a 2.75″ x 1.75″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock. Color however you see fit. Personally, I LOVE my Stampin’ Blends. They make coloring easy, fun, and beautiful! I used the light and dark of So Saffron, Old Olive, and Flirty Flamingo. I outlined the flower with the Light Mint Macaron. It’s amazing how that simple blue outline made the flower pop right off the page.

Next, die cut your Flirty Flamingo Cardstock using the Ornate Layers Dies. Did ya notice there’s not one this size? That’s ’cause we’re gonna make it this size! Wuh?! Yep…you heard me right. You CAN do it! We’ll do this step using pictures.
Step 1: Cut the Die Cut out full size. Step 2: Reposition your Die onto your diecut to the size you want it to be. Step 3: Make sure your dots are lined up with the holes on the die. Step 4: Run it back through your die cut machine. Pro Tip: Run rectangle/square shaped dies through at an angle for a smoother cut. Step 5: Sit back and appreciate how awesome you are…you just resized a die!

Now you can glue your Flower piece to the border you just cut out. Add these layers to your card base with dimensionals.
And while you’re at it, take that memento ink and stamp some of those cute frilly corners onto the inside of your card. Or do another flower. It’s your card…do it your way! I also added a flower to the envelope. To color it, I stuck a scrap sheet of paper into the envelope and then colored using my blends like I did on the card front. The scrap paper keeps your blends from bleeding through and staining the back of your envelope.

BAM! (Said in my best Emeril voice) You’ve got an awesome floral card that anybody would be excited to receive.
What’s your favorite part of the Ornate Suite? Me…I love the embossing folder, the stamps, the “to-die-for” dies, the ribbon…I love it all!! It’s one of the few times I’ve HAD to have the entire suite. The paper is sooooo pretty too. We’ll make a card with that one day soon!
Retiring Product Update: You may have noticed a bunch of our blends on the Retiring List. Have no fear…they are NOT retiring. They are however going to discontinue the sale of individual markers, and start selling them as the light/dark combo only. So if you need just a light, or just a dark of a color, hurry and get them now because they are selling out FAST. Starting June 3 you will only be able to get them as the combo.
